STEAM and Robotics

This past year Carlisle School was recognized as one of the top STEAM schools in the nation!  Watch and read below to learn more about our innovative STEAM, Tower Garden, and Robotics programs.

STEAM

Carlisle School offers a robust STEAM program for students in Pre-K through 12th Grade. Twice weekly lower school students in Pre-K through 5th grade participate in hands-on activities in the Makerspace Lab. Each student takes an art/design class and a STEAM class where they explore coding and robotics. In middle school, students are offered STEAM, coding, and art as electives. In the upper school, course selections include coding, engineering, design, art, and forensic science.

Tower Garden

Students at Carlisle School have a new opportunity for hands-on educational experiences. Through the support of generous donors, the school has purchased a Tower Garden aeroponic growing system. The Tower Garden was sponsored by Ken Vickers and Gloria Ann Martin in honor of granddaughters Elle and Lielle Hoyer, with support from the Garden Study Club and the Martinsville Garden Club.

RoboticsRobotics Program

Carlisle School is excited to offer students in grades 3rd to 12th the chance to participate in a competitive underwater MATE robotics program. Students who start the program in 3rd grade will have ten years of high-level design, engineering, coding, and marketing experience by the time they graduate!
