Spring Art Show: Part IV

This month we are celebrating the arts at Carlisle with a virtual art show. Part IV of the show features selected works by students in the 3rd grade, created under the direction of lower school art instructor Sherry Moschler. 3rd Grade

Picasso Portraits – As part of an art history lesson, students learned about Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), a Spanish painter, sculptor, and printmaker known for co-founding the cubist movement and the invention of constructed sculpture. Students practiced abstract art techniques with color, line, and shape. 

Cool Color City Landscapes – Students learned about cool colors, landscapes, and contrasting colors for this project.

Georges Seurat Pointillism Art – As part of an art history lesson, students learned about Georges Seurat (1859-1891), a French post-impressionist artist known for developing the painting technique pointillism. Students practiced pattern and color in this project. 

Greek God Mask – Students learned about 3D art and costume design while creating masks of Greek Gods. They practiced shape, form, and texture in this project. 

Self Portraits – Students learned about self-portraits, which reflect a specific place in time. They practiced the use of color and shape in the project.
