Fifth grade Exposition is a summative assessment piece that engages students in productive collaboration. The project is student-centered and provides the opportunity for students to develop skills in information technology and scientific inquiry and encourages problem solving. In preparation for this event, fifth grade students have collaborated on STEM and research projects in science classes and labs. During Exposition, students will showcase practical application as an extension of their classroom learning.
The title of the 2017 Exposition is “May the Force Be with You.“ The big idea for this year’s Exposition is “Force and Motion Within Our Universe.” During this year’s Exposition, students worked in collaborative groups to conduct research on a topic that focuses on the relationship between force and motion. Students conducted experiments, recording and analyzing their data, and organized their information in written and verbal presentations, as well as a digital portfolio of research tools and project resources.
