At Carlisle, we celebrate the different backgrounds of our students and encourage International students to apply for admission. As a traditional college preparatory school with a strong International Program that has been in existence for more than 10 years, Carlisle is committed to preparing students for world citizenship with a focus on culture, language, and living together.

Our International Program offers students two options – living with a host family or living in our International Student Houses. Both options give students a wonderful window into American culture, whether it’s taking part in a family’s holiday tradition or traveling with students in the student houses on trips out of town. Our International Student Houses, one for girls and one for boys, are located right at the entrance to the school. International students will experience a challenging academic program, balanced with a robust offering of extracurriculars, from band and choir to our strong athletic program.

Student Support

We understand that there may be anxiety as well as excitement about the possibility of living in a different culture, adjusting to a new school, and speaking a different language. It is our goal to make students feel welcome and at home during their stay with us. We have a variety of support options available to our international students to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Our International Student Coordinator plays a key role in assisting the international students to acclimate to their new environment. In addition, our Director of Residential Life is always available to encourage and give counsel as well.

Small class size allows students and faculty to form close relationships. In addition, all students meet with their academic advisor on a weekly basis. One-on-one college counseling is also provided to help students locate colleges and universities that will best meet student needs and preferences. The college planning process includes seminars and newsletters, individual counseling meetings, practice SAT and ACT testing, and campus recruiting visits from colleges and universities.
