The Carlisle Chiefs Field Hockey team has won 15 Blue Ridge Conference championships and two state titles, and has had 11 straight Final Four appearances. The program consists of Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. The season runs from August 1 to early November. Practice and games are held at the Smith River Sports Complex.
Carlisle Chiefs Field Hockey Coach: George Lyle
George Lyle is the new coach for Carlisle’s Field Hockey team. He is a lawyer who has served as the County Attorney for Henry County since 2003. He and his wife Lisa have two daughters – Hanna, a 2013-graduate of Carlisle, and Sally, a senior on the field hockey team. “To work with a talented and experienced team like the Chiefs hockey team is really unique. I have watched these ladies play for their whole careers at Carlisle and they have had tremendous success[…] Coach Lane left me a hardworking, disciplined team that is viewed as a tough opponent by every field hockey program in the league.”
