On Saturday February 20, three members of the Carlisle Equestrian Team traveled to Mocksville, NC to compete in the Thoroughbred Training Center Combined Test and Dressage Show. These members were: Katherine Lester and her horse Rapid Fire aka Jasper, Catie Pannill and her horse Kokoa Kat aka Kokoa, and Trae Meder and his horse Preemptive Strike aka Beau. A Combined Test consists of a dressage test and a stadium jumping course. Katherine and Jasper placed 1st in the Beginner Novice Division and Catie and Kokoa placed 2nd in the same Division. Trae and Beau were in 3rd place after the dressage portion of the Novice Division, but were unfortunately eliminated in the jumping phase. The riders also competed in the Dressage show earning Katherine a 2nd place in the Beginner Novice Division and Catie a 3rd place in the same division. Trae and Beau earned a 2nd place in the Training division of the Dressage Show.
Coming up on their schedule is the MacNair's Country Acres Combined Test on March 14 in Raleigh NC and The Virginia Horse Trials Starter Trials and Cross Country Schooling March 27-28 in Lexington VA.
